I believed in the Tooth Fairy as a kid, but I can honestly say I don’t remember having any definite image of what one actually looked like. Which is quite remarkable considering I had Opinions on what a great deal of mythical things did or didn’t look like.
Is the Tooth Fairy even a solo entity, like Santa, or are there armies of them? Who knows?
All I’ll say is that anything that sneaks into houses at nights and swaps coins for discarded bones is probably not all that big on tulle, sparkles and fairy dust.
This started off as a little doodle on a spare bit of hardboard, then became painting practice, got forgotten about for a couple of years, then fell out of a cupboard on my head, and thus booked itself a place to get finished.

I’ve been messing about with a tin of slightly congealed Ardenbrite antique gold paint lately, and discovered it’ll make interesting textures, which can then be washed with other colours. So yeah, this painting now has a ton of that going on. It glimmers rather prettily in the light (which is obviously hard to capture on here).
Anyway, if you’d like this piece of original artwork, you can find it in my shop for £100 (or five sets of milk teeth if you’re also a Tooth Fairy)
